Kahuna Promotions was a contemporary event production, communications and media liaison agency with an unparalleled track record in creating, producing and promoting experiential events that enhance traditional marketing solutions.

From the the mid-80’s until 2018, the Kahuna Promotions team pioneered the use of action sports and allied youth culture activities to generate millions of media impressions across an array of media platforms and to strengthen brand / consumer relationships through authentic, newsworthy and innovatively leveraged events.

Based in Cape Town and with comprehensive national and global reach, Kahuna Promotions specialised in utilising the aspirational beach lifestyle to attract and deliver the difficult to reach tween, teen and young adult demographics for clients ranging from cities and listed companies to ‘cool’ brands and core products.

Kahuna Promotions was run by the father and son team of Paul and Dene Botha whose collective experience of more than 45 years in event production and promotion had earned numerous awards including the IMM ‘Emergent Marketer of the Year’ for Ocean Action (1996), the Khusa award for ‘Best Brand Communicator’ amongst Teens (2006) and Sunday Times Generation Next awards for all of the top three ‘Best Experiential Events’ (2007).
