The Kahuna Surfing Academy offers Hi-Performance surf coaching for surfers of all levels of ability ranging from novices through those starting out in contests to aspiring surf stars who want to make professional surfing their career.
One-on-one SessionsIndividual training sessions cater for every level of surfing ability and sessions are customised to improve your surfing performance and enable you to reach your goals as quickly as possible. Group SessionsRegular group sessions for a maximum of eight surfers of similar ability are run every weekday from the Kahuna Surfing Academy premises in Kommetjie. Using a wide range of the South Peninsula's outstanding surf breaks, these sessions cover every facet of surfing and are ideal for both lifestyle and contest surfers. Hi-Performance Surf CampsHi-Performance surf camps providing the latest international information and techniques are run at conveniently situated surf venues countrywide. These camps cater for individuals or groups such as schools, clubs, surf industry team riders and international surfers visiting SA. Experts in various aspects of surf coaching are employed to present the highest level of instruction available in South Africa with the likes of WCT surfers Paul Canning and Heather Clark, legendary surf coach Graham Hynes, fitness guru Bobbi Rossouw and others amongst the instructors at KSA camps. Dene Botha attends many of South Africa's premier surfing events, particularly the junior (U20) contests, to conduct onsite contest coaching for the country's world beating young surf stars. In his capacity as a contest organiser, surf judge, announcer and SA's highest internationally qualified surf coach, Dene is able to improve your contest results at any venue by offering advice on what the judges scoring highly, where the best waves are breaking, heat strategies and how to achieve an optimal performance state.
